Lulu didn’t have the easiest or best life before coming to Pug Partners. One lucky day last September, the ARL in Des Moines rescued her and some other animals from a condemned home. She was in rough shape and needed a great deal of care, so the shelter contacted Pug Partners of Nebraska to take her in and give her the medical attention she needed.
Over one year later, after many vet appointments, surgeries, medicated baths, and lots of love from her foster home, Lulu is finally ready to go to a forever family!
Lulu is a 6 year-old pug who has a spitfire personality and lots of sass. While she can get along with others, she likes to be queen of her castle, so she’d be best in a home where she is either the only dominant dog, or even better – the only dog. She’s dedicated to showing affection for her person – she’ll be your shadow everywhere you go! Lulu loves to cuddle and be the center of your attention as much as possible.
She’s not one for long walks (like most pugs, she’s a bit of a couch potato), but she will need exercise to help her maintain a healthy weight. For a dog who doesn’t love walks, Lulu does love to run and escape out of open doors (she can be pretty sneaky about it!). An adopter must continually monitor Lulu near doors. For this reason, she will also require a secure, fenced-in yard.
It’s been a long road to recovery for Lulu since she came to PPN. She will need some ongoing care to ensure she remains healthy:
- Eye medication for pigmentary keratitis
- Joint and skin supplements
- Medicated baths until her skin has fully healed
- Would benefit from ongoing chiropractic care and acupuncture due to her gait and skin
- Lots of love and affection
